Children Helping Children Through the World of Art
Greenwich, CT – Martin Lawrence Galleries is calling upon the Picassos of tomorrow to participate in a summer-long exhibition of children’s artwork entitled “My Kid Can Do That!”. This promotion, taking place in all of the eleven Martin Lawrence Galleries nationwide encourages children to experience the thrill of seeing their artwork on exhibit in a prestigious art gallery while helping other children at the same time

This summer promotion will benefit the STARBRIGHT FOUNDATION, chaired by Steven Spielberg and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. The Foundation brings together the worlds of pediatric healthcare, technology and entertainment to create programs that improve the quality of life of children with chronic illnesses. Families of the children who participate in the summer drawing promotion will have the opportunity to take home their child’s original artwork, after the Labor Day exhibition, in a brand new frame, purchase price $7. All proceeds from the sales of these framed artworks will be donated to the STARBRIGHT FOUNDATION.
Throughout the summer, children and their families are invited to visit any Martin Lawrence Gallery to pick up an official entry form, upon which they can create their original masterpiece. Each child who brings back their artwork to one of the galleries will receive a complimentary fine art poster and more importantly, will be invited back to the gallery for a family-oriented weekend event taking place at each Martin Lawrence Gallery throughout Labor Day weekend (August 30th thru September 1st). All submissions will be framed and hung in the gallery alongside the fine art typically on view—great bragging rights for the parents!
Entry forms are available at all eleven galleries beginning July 4th. Artwork must be submitted at the galleries no later than August 15th so that time is allowed for framing. Participating families and anyone interested is invited to attend the child-friendly festivities and exhibition during Labor Day weekend.
