The artwork is signed 'DEYBER' lower right. The artwork ships framed in a contemporary black frame and has a framed size of 69.5 x 57.5\".\n\nCreated in 2007, \"Tempest in a Teapot\" offers a wonderfully imaginative interpretation of the familiar expression for turning a small matter into something dramatically larger. At the center of the composition, an elegant porcelain teapot rests unexpectedly upon a field of green grass. Decorated with a delicate blue, Asian-inspired design, the vessel evokes the refinement and domestic intimacy traditionally associated with fine porcelain. From its open top, however, something entirely unexpected emerges: a twisting tornado that rises dramatically into the sky.\n\nDeyber heightens the surrealism of the scene through a carefully orchestrated landscape. Behind the teapot, pale clouds gradually deepen into darker, increasingly ominous tones as the eye travels upward. At the top of the composition, the storm clouds merge with the winding funnel, visually connecting the modest porcelain vessel to the turbulent atmosphere above. The contrast between the teapot’s delicate decoration and the violent energy of the tornado gives the painting both its humor and its visual tension.\n\n\"Tempest in a Teapot\" exemplifies Deyber’s talent for transforming figurative language into imagery that is simultaneously witty, elegant, and unexpected. By rendering an impossible event with convincing realism, he places the work firmly within the tradition of Surrealism, where ordinary objects become gateways to extraordinary situations.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Robert Deyber","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67660616925501,"sku":"ORDEY021307","price":24850.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1551\/3581\/files\/ORDEY021307__P-Image_Tempest_in_a_Teapot_ORDEY021307_OR0001_sm_3fa04ae9-b7bc-4e5c-988a-6374faf55dfd.jpg?v=1791574433","url":"https:\/\/martinlawrence.com\/products\/tempest-in-a-teapot-2007","provider":"Martin Lawrence Galleries","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
