About the Work

"Stews" is an organic screenprint Organic screenprint with inks created from crushed baked beans, caviar, fresh strawberries, cherry pie filling, mango chutney, tomato paste, daffodils, tulips and leaves, created by Ed Ruscha in 1970. "Stews" come from a portfolio of 6 screen prints, each print bearing a single word. The words are comically specific to a geography of time and place (London) collectible like comic souvenirs but also a kind of shorthand. "Stews" as in meat stews. From the edition of 150, the artwork is signed, dated and annotated 'E. Ruscha 1970' lower left. The image size is 19 x 27". The artwork ships framed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
