Kerry Hallam

“My ambition was to make definitive statements. Using van Gogh, Cezanne, Matisse, and Dufy as departure points, I would…build on their feelings, dance to their music”.

Kerry Hallam (1937 – 2020) brought the world to life with radiant color and boundless joy. Born in Northern England and classically trained at London University’s Central College of Art, Hallam developed a distinctive style rooted in Fauvism and Post-Impressionism. His bold palettes, expressive brushwork, and luminous compositions transform everyday landscapes into celebrations of light and vitality.

Inspired by the sun-drenched beauty of St. Tropez and the French Riviera, as well as the windswept charm of Nantucket and New England, Hallam captured both the glamour and the tranquility of coastal living. His paintings, whether sparkling seascapes, idyllic villages, or panoramic vistas, invite viewers to escape, rejuvenate, and delight in life’s simple pleasures.

A charismatic figure, Hallam was also a musician who once performed alongside James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt, but ultimately devoted his life to painting. His work earned international acclaim, exhibited in Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, and beyond, and is held in prestigious collections including those of Brigitte Bardot and the Virginia Heart Institute.

Hallam’s art remains timeless—sophisticated yet joyous, infused with a sense of travel, leisure, and discovery. For today’s collectors, his paintings and prints are not only works of art but enduring expressions of passion, wanderlust, and the uplifting power of color.
