About the Work

It is essential to Liudmila Kondakova to make people happy with her art. Her technique is very complex, and her studio looks like an alchemist’ laboratory, set up to fuse reality and a dream. However, she does not include any complicated concepts that require you to read long articles with obscure, and unfamiliar terms. Her art is simple and pleasing to the eye of the viewer but is also full of photographic details that enchant your way through a city skyline, a scene, or an object. She expects her art to be understood with the heart- from a person’s creative center. She hopes that people looking at her art will look at it with romance, light, and possibility in their heart. She wants people to look at her art with parts of their creative spirit that can appreciate all the facets of life.

“April In Paris” is another work by Liudmila Kondakova that speaks to her Iconographic background. Once again her beloved city of Paris is the protagonist in her visual story, and the late April showers add an enchanting element to an already enchanting scene bathed by the shimmering effect of streetlights and the distant moon. The raindrops in the cobbled streets add another breathtaking element to the architectural detail shown in the artwork.
Her romantic portrayals of “A La Mere Catherine” and the “Basilica of the Sacred Heart” continue to delight and charm the viewer. This particular Paris street was depicted by Liudmila Kondakova in “A La Mere Catherine,” and it shows us once again how Liudmila Kondakova adds lighting and technique to each of her paintings to capture a particular moment in time. She creates her paintings with meticulous attention to detail, spending two or three months on each one. Every fold in the tablecloths, every new leaf on each delicate branch, every fallen blossom combines into a glorious tableau that celebrates the beauty to be found in everyday life. “April in Paris” is a 30 x 36- inch hand-signed serigraph on paper.
